About the Event

Panelists from the Australian Council for the Arts, Canada Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts (United States) will provide a general overview of the arts and cultural support structure in their respective countries. The discussion will focus on data collection practices for national grant making and reporting requirements. Panelists will speak to the national priorities and agendas that underpin data collection, and the similarities and differences between how nations collect and assess data.

Panelists:

  • Sunil Iyengar, Research & Analysis Director, National Endowment for the Arts
  • Rebecca Mostyn, Director of Research and Knowledge Management at the Australia Council for the Arts
  • Gabriel Zamfir-Enache, Acting Director of Research, Evaluation and Performance Measurement at Canada Council for the Arts

Our hope is that the initial Virtual Study Group will generate more detailed and continued discussions on related topics such as:

  • Government transparency rules and procedures
  • Demographic data collection requirements
  • Comparison of different fields from collected data
  • Analysis and evaluation of federal data
