Demographic Data on a Global Scale – Panel & Workshop

When: April 25th at 6pm – 8pm EDT  / April 26th at 8am – 10am AEST

– – –

Description: In November 2021, fellow CRN network member, Leah Reisman posed a question to the CRN listserv on creative or forward-thinking approaches to demographic surveys. The volume of responses to Leah’s inquiry was significant. So, CRN Steering Committee thought we should turn this line of inquiry into a VSG panel discussion and workshop.

A facilitated conversation (First 30 minutes)

Robin Sokoloski facilitated a conversation with Dr. Zannie Voss and Dr. Amalia Sustikarini on the importance of collecting demographic information, the essentials of how to conduct this work with care, and things they’ve learned by doing this work.

The Workshop (following the panel)

Through the use of a slightly modified version of a Pro Pro Chart, participants were placed into breakout groups to look at two survey examples (two examples will be sent to you three days in advance) on existing demographic surveys from different countries. At the tail end of the event, the group reconvened to share insights gleaned from the activity.
